The Evolution of a Legend The Microtech Large Underwater Demolition Team (L.U.D.T.) is back and better than ever. The highly anticipated Gen III iteration is a modern reinvention of Microtech’s very first knife, retaining its classic, hard-use profile while introducing a suite of significant modern enhancements.

Featuring Microtech’s proprietary Bohler M390MK super steel, this single-edge (S/E) blade is finished in tactical black with a partial serration—perfect for slicing through fibrous materials, cordage, and everyday obstacles with ease. The newly introduced silica carbide ball bearing pivot guarantees an exceptionally smooth, rapid, and authoritative automatic deployment.

Maintenance has also been streamlined for the end-user. The Gen III L.U.D.T. utilizes standard Torx screws instead of proprietary hardware, making field stripping and cleaning straightforward. The vibrant red 6061-T6 aluminum handles are now equipped with high-grip traction inlays, ensuring the knife stays locked in your hand whether dry, wet, or fully submerged.

MacMow Tactical's Take We curate our everyday carry lineup with one rule: the gear has to perform when it counts. The L.U.D.T. has always been a premier choice for first responders and tactical enthusiasts, but the Gen III upgrades make this a true benchmark for modern autos. The switch to Torx hardware and the aggressively grippy traction inserts take this from a collector's item straight to a dependable, hard-use daily driver.
